Does your stoop need some love after the winter? You don’t need a big budget to give your front stoop a makeover. I recently was looking at our tired, neglected front stoop decor and decided I could make a few simple and affordable changes. Check out the result below!

First look at what you have around your home for front stoop decor. It is amazing what a little paint can accomplish when it comes to decor. Assess what you have to see what could work and maybe what needs to be replaced. Let’s look at a few categories to see how you could easily update the decor.

RUG
If you really like your outdoor rug, an easy option is to simply give it a refresh with a wash! The rug we previously had easily spot cleaned and looked brand new! I also had a mat with words that was partially faded, so simply touched the letters up with white paint. The DIY rug above was really easy to make and I used a $6.99 Ikea rug! DIY coming soon.

PLANT POTS
I decided to keep the plant pots I had and update them with paint. I had leftover white paint and white washed the terracotta pots in 5 minutes! It was so easy to do! DIY coming soon. Whether you have paint or spray paint, plants pots are super easy to update!

LANTERNS
Depending on your colour scheme, your old lanterns might not work. I had the black lanterns for a few seasons and wanted to brighten up our front stoop! Easiest way to do this is with a little spray paint, really simple, I will post the DIY soon and show you that it’s really only 3 steps.

PLANTS
If you like the look of your outdoor pots but want to add a pop of colour or greenery, plants are the easiest way to achieve this. Depending on your style, you might choose different coloured flowers or in my case I went with greenery and white flowers to keep it simply!
I am so happy with how this front stoop decor makeover turned out! It probably took me a total of 45 minutes to achieve this look. The white washed paint dried extremely fast and the flat white spray paint could be handled within minutes.

Let’s look at the cost of this front stoop decor makeover.
- Plant Pots: $0 (Already owned, updated with leftover white paint.)
- Lanterns: $0 (Already owned, updated with leftover white paint.)
- Door Basket: $0 (Was part of a gift bag from the Tracy Ayton Styling Workshop)

For under $50 I totally transformed our front stoop decor. Your budget might be smaller, but then use decor you already own and update it with paint or new plants. A refresh doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money. Even sweeping up the dead leaves made a HUGE difference at our front door. Want more budget makeover ideas, check out my Pinterest board.
