The Very Small Patio Before Reveal

August 17, 2018

Patio before photos, making over a space on a budget

We are kicking off the Budget but Beautiful Series with a VERY small patio. The patio before above has never been used and only been collecting grime for a couple years. The patios is not very big only 5 feet by 8 feet, but there are definitely some great options to bring this patio to life. The key will be finding the right piece of furniture to add seating. I will be looking for small love seats to fit at the end so both doors are able to open fully. The patio is part of the office and will add valuable seating area and square footage to the space. At this time it is hard to image this could be a usable space! Let’s look at some dream items for this space.

Items I would love to find for the small patio makeover
  • A 5 ft X 8 ft rug – this will cover the entire patio and bring an outdoor living room feel to the small space.
  • Love seat to fit perfectly on the small end wall – then I can make the most of the patio footprint
  • Plants – looking for outdoor plants that can come inside for the winter months
  • Outdoor ottoman – this will double as a table and for extra seating.

I can’t wait to get started on this small patio and finding pieces that will fit perfectly.

3 Ways to Get Organized The budget office storage 3 Ways to Get Organized

The budget office storage was revealed last week, so let's talk organization! This was the key to the storage closet. Everything has a place and there should be minimal clutter.
It becomes pretty frustrating when we constantly have to look for items we want to use. Getting organized not only creates less clutter, it saves you time!
1. Throw away items you no longer use - I know it seems straight forward, but sometimes it can be difficult. This closet previously housed a lot of junk that was no longer needed.

2. Use storage containers - Image if all the contents of those baskets were simply stacked in each shelf, it would feel very disorganized. Baskets are a small investment to help you get organized.

3. Create a labeling system - Whether you have a label maker or purchase labels or make these DIY paper lables I made, labels are key to being organized.

Do you remember what this closet looked like before? Swipe right to see. ➡️ It wasn't pretty. Now all of the craft supplies, paper, cords, wrapping etc have a place to be stored. The baskets create a clean look and keep this space clutter free.
I don't what to pick a favorite but I think this little closet makeover is one of my favorite budget room makeovers. More photos over on the blog.
