This space after Halloween but before the holidays is a time where I do not know what kind of décor to use at our front door. The pumpkins are gone, I’m not quite ready for holiday décor, where do I go from here? I had some extra pampas grass in the house as I used it for our front entryway makeover. Every time I walked by it, I thought, I need to use that for something. After I put our pumpkin in the compost our front door needed a fall décor piece.

I wanted to make a DIY that was quick and easy. This fall has been extremely busy with my mom visiting and trying to rid our home of unwanted items. I feel like people think DIY’s are time consuming, they can be, but they don’t have to be. When I decided to make this wreath I wanted to use one tool, a hot glue gun. If you don’t own a hot glue gun you need one! They are so satisfying. They can fix broken décor, create a new piece for your home in minutes and cost next to nothing.

THREE EASY STEPS TO CREATE A PAMPAS GRASS WREATH

GET YOUR TOOLS – I used a hot glue gun, wreath, and twine.

TIE ON THE ROPE TO HANG – I used rope I had leftover from another project. I simply looped it and then triple tied the rope. I figured this step was the best to do first.

GLUE ON THE PAMPAS GRASS – To make it easy I simply put hot glue directly on the wreath and laid the pampas grass on top. The pampas grass can be very delicate, it is recommended to spray it with hairspray to keep the pieces together. Wait until after you’ve created your wreath to spray as you can then shape the pampas grass with the hairspray.

How much do you think this project cost to make? What if I told it only cost $1! Would you believe me?
Wreath: $1 (Dollar Tree), Pampas Grass: Free (from a neighbor), Hot Glue Gun and Rope: Free (already owned)
This DIY only cost $1!!

This project was really easy to make and it looks great on our front door. The dollar store is a surprising place. They actually have quite a few craft items. If you are thinking of creating a wreath I would definitely start at your local dollar store. They have affordable options for all projects.
