Currently being used as a guest room with only a lone pull out couch, this room is underutilized. This space is absolutely amazing. It has vaulted ceilings, a built in reading nook, a closet for office storage and a perfect sized patio. A dream space to work from home. First we need to add some decor, freshen up the paint and find the perfect desk. This space needs to be somewhat minimal as the homeowner needs to use the space for projects so will need to room to work on the desk and possibly the floor. I don’t want to simply fill the room with furniture but use it wisely. Since I am so lucky to have the closet for storage and the patio for seating, the room can remain fairly open. Thinking of refreshing your space check out a few Budget but Beautiful tips.

ITEMS I WOULD LOVE TO FIND FOR THE BUDGET OFFICE
- A large vintage desk
- New fabric for the reading nook
- A vintage rug to add a pop of colour.
This room has so much potential. There are a few issues. As it is an eighties build there is no overhead lighting and two walls are taken up by doors or built ins. The challenge will be to use the space accordingly and also to add some much needed lighting.

The budget: $1600
You might think $1600 is a lot for a simple office, but I need to purchase quite a few items. I require lighting for the nook as well as the desk, an affordable desk that will fit the space and a large piece of art to fill the main wall. All of the smaller items for this space really added up when I was budgeting. Hopefully I can find a few places to save and will come in under budget.
